The latest report from Italy has disclosed that Manchester United have submitted a new bid worth £72 million to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio before the close of the summer transfer window.
The report added that the Red Devils agents submitted the new deal worth £72m for the 23-year-old midfielder this week even though the Italian side are doing everything possible to keep the Serbian Star.
This is because Lazio have refused to reduce their asking price of £90 million for the midfielder, which can be considered as a means to frustrate Man Utd from signing their long-time target.
The Red Devils are, however, keen on signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic following the departure of Ander Herrera and the impending departure of Paul Pogba, who has been linked with moves to Real Madrid.
Considering, the new deal proposed by Man Utd, they still might be unable to convince Lazio to let the Serbian midfielder leave.
This is because the Italian Seria A club has stated that it wouldn’t force a player to remain at the club and it would willingly let a player leave so long their demands are met.
With this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to hope Lazio would let Sergej leave or look for another replacement.
Apart from Man Utd, other European clubs like Juventus, PSG and Inter have also shown interest in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
