Man Utd transfer news: Red Devils submit £54m bid for Milan Skriniar

Manchester United have reportedly submitted a £54mbid for their ex manager’s defensive target, Milan Skriniar.

It is a well documented fact that the Red Devils need central defensive reinforcement and it was largely echoed by their sacked manager last summer.

But Ed Woodward decided to willingly ignored his plea and David De Gea began finding the task of keeping clean sheets difficult even against the so called small teams.

The caretaker manger, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pleased with what he is got but he wouldn’t mind adding a solid central defender to his ranks.

Inter Milan’s 23-year-old defender has been hugely linked to Old Trafford and the club have officially submitted a bid worth around £54m for the Slovakian.

Skriniar, whose contract will expire in 2022 has been tabled with a contract extension by his current employer but he is refusing to agree to the terms of the contract which has fuelled rumours of an imminent exit.

Manchester United are also monitoring the situation regarding 27-year-old Kalidou Koulibaly whose £90m asking price is a little too high.

Also, AC Milan’s youngster Alessio Romagnoli is also being linked to the English giants but Milan might be holding out for a ridiculous sum to sway them to sell.

Accordingly, Serie A expert David Amayol in his expert opinion dies not see any if the three defenders leaving their clubs this January unless on incredible sums of money.

“So there are three in Serie A that are very sexy names and that’s Skriniar, Koulibaly and Romagnoli. In January I’d be absolutely shocked if any of these three move.” He opined.

If the transfer market is unyielding as observed by Amayol, United will have to stick with the players they have got until the end of the season at least.
