Manchester United are reportedly close to wrapping up a transfer deal for highly rates Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernándes.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils are looking increasingly confident of pulling off a massive deal for the Portuguese international.
Fernández was one of the standout players in the Portuguese League this season with his statistics one of the best in Europe. His performance has brought about the attention of the big clubs across Europe with United and Man City among a host of clubs battling for his signature.
Fernandes is valued at £71 million and United have emerged as frontrunner to secure the 24-year-old ahead of rivals Man City.
Fernandes would be the ideal partner for Paul Pogba in the midfield as the Portuguese international is capable of scoring and providing assists. He is also an excellent set-piece specialist and capable of scoring sublime goals from outside the box.
He is undoubtedly a world-class performer and could take the Premier League by storm with his unique qualities and work rate.
Fernandes had a record-breaking season scoring 32 goals and providing 18 assists in all competition for Sporting Lisbon.
From the look of things it’s just a matter of time for this transfer to be completed as all signs point to the player moving to Old Trafford this summer.
