Manchester United are considering a transfer swoop for Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule. United are looking to overhaul the squad in the summer and the defence is one of the key priorities for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
According to Fox Sports Manchester United have made a list of defenders to replace Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the heart of the defence. Sule is said to top the list as the club rates the German defender highly.
The 23-year-old has really come of age this season displacing George Boateng in the Bayern Munich starting lineup to become an undisputed first-team player. He is also seen as a future leader for the team but could be sold this summer according to the report.
Sule is physically imposing, strong aerially and able to pass with his feet excellently, however, there are question marks about his pace. It is understood that Bayern would demand a fee of around €50million for his services.
Sule is seen by Manchester United as a younger and more affordable option to the likes of Raphael Varane, Kalidou Koulibaly and Toby Alderweireld. It is obvious that Manchester United need new players and the 23-year-old would be an excellent signing for the club.
