Arsenal have been able to seal the transfer deal for Nicolas Pepe from French club, Lille this summer.
According to the reports, the transfer deal is worth around £72 million which will be paid on installments by the English club.
This new deal will see the Ivory Coast international become the most expensive player of all time at Arsenal ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was signed at £54 million in 2018.
According to the report released on Tuesday afternoon, Pepe was spotted at Arsenal training ground at London Colney where he underwent his medical, which means anytime from now an official announcement would be made.
Ahead of the official announcement, we believe Pepe will get the shirt number 19 at Arsenal as this was the number he wore during his stay at Lille.
And luckily enough for him, the shirt number 19 is currently vacant at Arsenal as it was previously worn by the goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, who has now upgraded to N01.
Other shirt numbers available at Arsenal are; 27, 22, 23, 32, 33, 3, 11 and 12.
Though a photoshopped image of Pepe in an Arsenal shirt has gone viral, the Arsenal fans can’t wait to see the attacker in their club’s colours ahead of what promises to be an exciting season for the club.
Arsenal have made some impressive transfers this summer which could be a clue to a better season ahead.
