Manchester United are expected to have a busy transfer window with several players expected to sign for the club after a disappointing season.
There could also be some high-profile exits, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba linked with moves away from the club.
One player that is linked with an exit to Italian side Roma is Brazilian midfielder Fred. The 26-year-old arrived the club last season with high expectations after a big money move from Shakhtar Donetsk.
However, he endured a torrid debut season failing to impress Jose Mourinho and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
English tabloid the Metro reports that Fred has agreed on personal terms with Italian side AS Roma ahead of a potential move in the summer.
It is understood that AS Roma are keen on signing Fred on a two-year loan deal but United prefer a permanent deal for the 26-year-old.
Fred is still an attractive prospect for several clubs as the player has quality but has failed to thrive under the increased pressure at Old Trafford.
He would also be eager to reunite with Paulo Fonseca who was appointed as the new manager of Roma this summer. It was under the tutelage of Fonseca that Fred developed into a star during his time in Ukraine.
United are hopeful for a quick resolution as they intend using his transfer to help finance new recruits ahead of next season.
