Chelsea have been enjoying a positive pre-season this season with the club recording a 4-3 victory against Reading in their last friendly.
Despite the FIFA ban hammer on the club, there are still some transfer activities ongoing with a number of academy players leaving the club,
One of such is USA youth ace Kyle Scott, who joined Premier League outfit Newcastle. The 21-year-old was unveiled via the club’s website on Monday and the player revealed his delight about making a move to the Tyneside outfit.
According to Scott, Newcastle have shown that they place emphasis on given youth the opportunity to impress with the first team. he cited the example of highly rated midfielder Sean Longstaff.
Longstaff has been a transfer target for Manchester United following his impressive performances for the Magpies last campaign.
“I’m really excited. Newcastle is a massive club with massive history, but for young kids there is an opportunity – you see that with Longstaff and what he did last year, and it’s a good opportunity for me.
“Newcastle are in the Premier League, and a massive club. You look at the kind of players that have come through here and how much opportunity they have got, and I feel like at this place they do give it as long as you’re working hard and playing well.”
Scott is hoping to follow in that trail after signing a long-term deal with the club. The 21-year-old has been with Chelsea since he was nine years and spent his time through the youth ranks but made just 1 appearances for the Blues during his stay at the club.
He would be hoping to kickstart his career with the move to Newcastle and it would be interesting to see how he progresses next season.
