Aston Villa summer spree continues after the Premier League club confirmed the signing of Kasimpasa winger Mahmoud Trezeguet.
The Egypt international had been linked with a move to the club all summer and has completed a transfer believed to be worth £8.75million. Trezeguet was one of the star players at the AFCON tournament in Egypt and would bring a different dimension to the Aston Villa attack.
Villa manager Dean Smith revealed his delight in capturing the 24-year-old and claimed that he was the ideal signing for the club due to his dynamic nature.
We’re really excited to work with ‘Trez’,”
“I’ve watched him a number of times. He’s the type of wide player that we have been looking for who is direct, causes problems for the opposition in the final third and scores goals.”
This transfer would represent a big financial move for the Egyptian who began his career with Al Ahly before moving to Europe in 2015.
Aston Villa meanwhile have made nine signings so far in what is proving to be a record-breaking summer for the West Midland club.
The club are also appealing to the FA over the transfer of Douglas Luiz from Manchester City. The Brazilian is on the verge of a £15million move but has been held back due to work permit issues.
Aston Villa fans would be hoping that these signings ensures the club competes strongly in the English Premier League next season.
