Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was spotted at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Saturday. The French ace has been battling with a niggling ankle knock which ruled him out of the clash against Barcelona last week.
Kante had to prematurely leave the pre-season tour to tend to his niggling injury. From the pictures taken on Saturday, Kante is ready for the new season. The former PFA Player of the Year is regarded as one of the finest defensive midfielders in the game.
Played out of position by manager Maurizio Sarri, Kante is expected to get a new leash under new manager Frank Lampard. Lampard favours a midfield two which could mean that Kante would return to his favorite position alongside Italian maestro Jorginho.
However Lampard has stuck largely with a midfield duo if Kovacic and Jorginho which could be in large part due to the absence of Kante.
Kante is one of the rare midfielders capable of transforming a team’s midfield and Lampard has high regards for the 27-year-old.
Chelsea are preparing to face Championship side Reading on Sunday and Kante looks like he would get playing time during the match. The Blues are finalising preparations for a huge season as they face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the first game of their season.
