Manchester United are close to signing Fulham forward Ryan Sessegnon according to news sources in England. The pacey forward has attracted interest from several teams including Juventus and Tottenham who are interested in his signature.
The 19-year-old was impressive for the Cottagers last season, winning the Championship Player of the Year as he helped Fulham to gain promotion to the Premier League.
However, Sessegnon endured an underwhelming debut season in the top flight netting just two goals in all competitions.
Despite this, he is still considered as one of the brightest young forwards in the game. Manchester United apparently believe he can thrive at the club and have opened talks with Fulham regarding the transfer.
It is understood that Fulham are demanding a fee worth £40 million for their most prized asset as the club looks to prepare for next season in the Championship. It is however unlikely that Man United would pay one such fee for the forward who has a year left on his contract.
United are in for a big summer after their disappointing season and Sessegnon signing would keep in line with their tradition of signing talented English youngsters.
Sessegnon has so far scored 25 goals in 115 appearances for Fulham.
