Manchester United are confident of announcing a new contract agreement for star forward Marcus Rashford according to reports.
Both parties have been in negotiations since the past few months without any breakthrough. However, according to latest reports, the Red Devils have made major headway in the negotiations.
Rashford is regarded as one of the best young forwards in the game and has been a major player for the team since his breakthrough year in 2016.
He is regarded as a pacy forward with an eye for goal and also capable of playing in the wide positions. The 21-year-old existing contract was set to expire next season which has kept several clubs on alert.
It is understood that Barcelona was among the clubs interested in the forward but Rashford is keen on remaining at his boyhood club.
The England international was reported to have demanded an outrageous wage package around £300,000 to sign a new deal with the club.
However, Man United have offered the forward a new wage worth £175,000 a week which appears to be accepted by the forward.
It remains a matter of when the announcement would be made. Rashford has scored 45 goals in 170 matches for the Red Devils.
