Arsenal are looking to make a formal bid for Olympique Lyon forward Moussa Dembele according to Daily Star.
Dembele has been linked to a host of English clubs after an impressive debut season in France.
The 22-year-old impressive form for Lyon helped the French giants to a third-place finish in the French league and such has attracted the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal who are battling for his signature.
L’Equipe had revealed last week that United had made a bid worth £35 million for the player. However, it is believed that Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made the former Celtic forward a major priority this summer.
Emery wants to bolster his options in the attack ahead of next season with third choice forward Danny Welbeck already out of the club.
Dembele is a quality forward capable of playing up front as a lone striker with his ability to play with his back to goal and score crucial goals. In addition he would have little problem adjusting to the physicality of English football having played for Scottish side Celtic.
It remains to be seen if a deal would be agreed by both parties, as Lyon are known to play hardball during negotiations. The 22-year-old had 20 goals in all competitions for Lyon which is a good return this season.
