The transfer window has so far seen the big clubs wax their financial muscles with Real Madrid spending over £300 million on new signings.
However, the Premier League top six clubs have been fairly quiet and we have fresh update about a key transfer target for Arsenal.
The Sun claims that Arsenal have abandoned their pursuit of Belgium forward Yannick Carrasco.
News of an impending transfer for Carrasco had dominated the headlines in recent weeks with many speculating that Arsenal were close to securing a deal for the player.
The player also seemed to suggest a transfer after revealing to reporters that he had begun talks with a European club last week.
It is understood that Carrasco transfer has been deemed expensive by the Gunners who have a limited budget for transfers. Carrasco is valued at £30 million by Dalian Yifang and Arsenal have only £45 million available for transfers.
It is understood that the London club would look at other cheaper targets as they look to bolster their squad.
Carrasco would have been an excellent addition to the team but given the financial difficulty of the club it is best that they seek alternative signings.
