Liverpool have reportedly beaten several clubs to the signing of Harvey Elliott from Fulham according to The Telegraph.
The teenager is regarded as one of the top young talents for the Cottagers and there have been speculations about his future. He also holds the record for the youngest player to play in the Premier League as he came on as a substitute against Wolves in May, aged 16 years and 30 days at the time.
Elliot cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 years and Liverpool are thought to have convinced the player to agree a three-year contract as a professional.
Fulham were hoping to convince the player to sign a new contract with the club with the promise of regular first team football going into the new season. But it seems like the player has made up his mind to leave the Championship club.
Liverpool would be happy to sign the youngster who is considered as one of the hottest talents in England. Fulham are expected to be compensated by Liverpool but this amount is unknown and could be subject to a tribunal ruling.
Liverpool are yet to make any major announcement save for Dutch import Seep van der Berg transfer this season.
