Aston Villa have been the most active team in the transfer window among the top flight EPL teams with the club bringing in 11 players so far. However there have been some notable departures with the latest being highly rated winger Andre Green.
The 21-year-old departed Villa Park this week on a season-long loan at Championship side Preston North End. Green was unveiled at the club on Wednesday and revealed his delight at making the move to the club.
Green who had featured and scored in Aston Villa friendly against Charlton just last week revealed that he made the move in a bid to get regular first team football. The arrivals of Trezeguet, Jota and Anwar El Ghazi would have seen him starved of minutes at Aston Villa.
“I am happy I am here. I just spoke to the gaffer; everything is exciting and I can’t wait to get started and meet the lads.
“I had a good season in the Championship last year and I am excited to be here to bring that experience I have had into this team.”
Preston boss Alex Neil revealed that he was hopeful that Green would bring pace, creativity and directness to the club’s attack. Green is known for his pace and trickery and should be able to excel in the Championship this upcoming season.
He will wear the number 19 jersey at Deepdale and is likely to feature in Preston’s opener against Millwall at the weekend. The winger would be hoping to kick off his campaign on a high with an opening day victory.
